Activated clay is a white or grayish-white power showing a highly porous inner structure and a multitude of acid site upon its surface.
Activated clay mainly used to remove color, reduce the color in dark industrial oils, like mineral oil, motor oil, petroleum products, used edible oil, lubrication oil, insulation oil and paraffin even waxes.
Decoloration of oil is carried under vacuum or atmospheric conditions depending on the plant design and the temperatures range between 100 Degree to 300 Degree centigrade and the contact time is usually between 30 minutes to 90 minutes. In all, bleaching conditions depends on the viscosity, the boiling range and the flash point of the oil to be treated.
