Introduction
Anshan High-tech Park (ASHTP) is
located in the eastern part of Anshan city. It was
authorized as a state-level park in 1991. Total
development area of the Park is 7.9
km2.
As an important industrial city in Northeast
China, Anshan is known as the "City of Steel" in
China. It is easily accessible to Shenyang and
Dalian.
The ASHTP is 3.5 km from the downtown area of
the city, 13 km from Qianshan Mountain Tourism
Resort and 80 km from Anshan Tengao Airport. It is
also linked to the Shenyang-Dalian Expressway.
Yingkou Bayu port is 125 km away, about one and a
half hours drive from the Park.

Major industries in the Park
include electronics, information technology,
optical electromechanical integration technologies
and products, new materials, and environment
protection equipment.
By the end of 2001, 1,062 enterprises had
established themselves in the Park. The main areas
of foreign investment include machinery,
metallurgy, electronics and telecommunications,
petrochemical engineering and biopharmaceuticals.
Over RMB 100 million (USD 12.07 million) has been
invested in infrastructure development.
The ASHTP encourages developments in liquid
crystal display (LCD), program- controlled
exchangers, satellite communication receiving
projects and television transmitters. It also
welcomes automation-related technologies, new
materials, energy-saving technologies and
environmental protection technologies.
To date, the ASHTP has attracted 1,200
projects. 93 of these projects are invested by
foreign investors from 11 countries.
