Introduction
Baoji High-Tech Park (BHTP) is
located in Baoji City. It was authorized as a
state-level high-tech park in November 1992. The
1st phase covered an area of 5.6 km 2
while the second phase covered 7.3 km2.
The development focus of the Park includes
microelectronics, aviation technologies, life
science, bioengineering and new materials.
Located at the western part of Shaanxi, Baoji
is an important industrial city along the Eurasian
Continental Bridge. Three major railways, namely,
Longhai (Qinhuangdao-Lanzhou), Baocheng
(Baoji-Chengdu) and Baozhong (Baoji-Zhongwei),
meet in the city. The high-tech park is 100 km
from Xianyang International Airport.
Baoji is a famous cultural city with a long
history. It is an important stop along the
legendary Silk Route and is also the "Hometown of
Bronze". The city hosts many historical sites
including Tiantai Mountain, Famen Temple, Jinhe
Taoist Temple and Temple of Zhuge Liang. It is
also exciting to explore Taibai State Forest Park
and Tiantai Mountain Forest Park.
There are many large State-owned enterprises
in Baoji. Their major strengths are in machinery,
electronics, light industry and nonferrous
metallurgy.

Currently, there are 500
enterprises in the Park, including 100 high-tech
firms and two Fortune Global 500 projects. An
incubation service center has been set up to
encourage the commercialization of scientific
achievements.
The Park also enjoys relatively rich human
resources in the city as well as in nearby cities
in the province. The total population of Baoji is
about 4 million, with 610,000 living in the urban
area. Among them, there are 150,000 experienced
employees and more than 10,000 technical
professionals.
