Size scope:

 

This standard covers tubes of specified outside diameter 10.2mm to 165.1mm (thread size 1/8 to 6 )in two series, medium and heavy, and three type of designated thicknesses.

 

 

 

Manufacturing process:

 

The tubes shall be manufactured by a seamless(s) or longitudinally welded(W)process.

Inspection:

 

1) Tensile test, be performed on bare tube in accordance with EN10002-1

 

2) Bend test: be applied to bare tubes with specified O.D of 17.2mm up to and including 60.3mm and be carried out in accordance with En10232 to an angle of 90 degree .

 

3) Flattening test: be applied to bare tubes with specified outside diameters greater than 60.3mm and be carried out in accordance with En10233.

 

4) Leak tightness test: Each tube (before threading, if applicable) shall be tested for leak-tightness.The test shall be either hydrostatic test or electro-magnetic test in accordance with En10246-1.

 

5) Dimensional inspection;

 

6) Visual examination

 

 

 

Marking:

 

H or M:indicate the series

 

L,L1 or L2 indicate the type

 

S or W  indicate the tube manufacturing process, seamless or welded.

 

 

 

Delivery conditions:

 

For tube ends:

 

1) The tube ends shall be cut nominally square to the axis of the tube and shall be free from excessive burrs..

 

2) Tube ends shall be supplied with external taper threads in accordance with EN10226-1/EN10226-2.

 

3) Tube shall be supplied with one socket per tube.

 

4) One cap or plug fitted to each tube end.

 

5) With the thread varnished  or with thread protection.

 

For hot dip galvanized condition:

 

1) shall be supplied galvanized according to EN ISO 1461

 

2) shall be supplied galvanized according to EN 10240.
