RTV-2 condensation silicone rubber for plaster crafts moulding are generally named two -component room temperature vulcanization RTV mold making silicone rubber, a kind elastic silicone rubber mold which features with resistance to deformation, high-temperature, acid-alkali and expansion. mold making silicone rubber mainly applicable to make the silicone mould for cultural relic duplication,architectural decoration, resin crafts, lighting ornaments, candles, statues, model design, product exploitation, etc.

RTV-2 condensation silicone rubber for plaster crafts moulding is white flowing liquid with general hardness of 22-50A°after curing . If you want to make large products and large size molds, the mold should be made of  RTV-2 silicone rubber with high hardness. On the contrary, if  the mold with fine and precision patterns , RTV-2 silicone rubber should be made of silicon with low hardness. The amount of the curing agent depends on the actual requirements of the customer. If molds requiring fast drying and demould, more curing agent is needed; contrarily, if molds requiring slower drying and demould, less curing agent is needed.

RTV-2 condensation silicone rubber for plaster crafts moulding is a kind of flowing liquid, and it consists of two component, part A is a flowable liquid silicone rubber, part B is the curing agent.
  Firstly, after your previous work of dealing with the original model, take some liquid silicone rubber, add 2%~3% cuing agent of the amount of silicon and mix them evenly.
  Then after vacuum-pumping the mixture, you can pour it into the mold frame. The silicone mold will cured in 2~3 hours.

The time for vacuum-pumping should be less than 3-5mins, otherwise, once the silicone rubber has cross-link reaction during vacuumizing, it will not be operated. And You should ensure that part A and part B mixed evenly.

Why do the silicone rubber molds have an unsmooth surface with tracks and strips on it?

It is due to product or model to be molded should hasn't been sanded or polished . If the mold or product is not sanded or polished, the mold made of whatever quality silicone rubber will not be good and smooth enough since the mold or the product itself is not smooth or perfect. Another case is that uneven brushing of the release agent will also bring about unsmoothness of the mold.
