2 part silicone molding compound for mold making is a great all purpose silicone as it is flexible, extremely tear resistant, has a low viscosity that does not require degassing (although always recommended if capable), and is very easy to mix. The High Strength RTV 2 silicone is a tin base silicone. It is recommended for one piece molds, molds with undercuts, multi piece molds, and molds that require a very high tear strength.

If the customer wants to make large products and large size molds, the mold should be made of silicon rubber with high hardness. On the contrary, if the mold with fine and precision patterns, it should be made of silicon with low hardness. The amount of the curing agent depends on the actual requirements of the customer. If molds requiring fast drying and demould, more curing agent is needed; contrarily, if molds requiring slower drying and demould, less curing agent is needed.

(Note: our company does not recommend you to add silicone oil. If a special soft silicon mold or fine detailed and complex patterns products are required, 5%-10% silicone oil can be added to soften the mold for easy demould.)

How to make a perfect silicone mold with 2 part silicone molding compound for mold making ?

Firstly,the silicone rubber and catalyst must be mix evenly,mixing for 5-6 minutes,if you do not mix evenly,it will cause one part is dry but other part is wet.

Secondly,if you have a vacuumed machine,that's will be perfect, vacuuming mixed silicone for 5-6 minutes,there will not have bubble.
Thirdly,the silicone mould need 24 hours to complete dry,so when you finished the silicone mould,please after 24 hours later bring into production.

I believe that the silicone mould will be perfect if you pay attention to these points.
