Can etching match woven-mesh density?
Not really. Extremely high woven density is not where etching wins; etching is the fit when you need rigidity, zero burrs, defined apertures and zoned open area.
Can it be formed into a deep cup or complex shape?
Flat and shallow-curved parts are etched directly. Deep cup forms combine etching with pressing — flag this at enquiry stage.
Which grade for food contact?
SUS304 covers most uses; choose SUS316L where cleaning cycles are frequent or corrosion resistance matters more.
