What is auto return / fail safe function for motorized ball valve?
Fail safe or auto return function for motorized ball valve means that the electric motor actuator will drive the ball valve back to its normal position (normally open or normally closed optional) when there is a power loss. Among all the controlling methods, only the OP04 and OP04F wiring has this function. 
There Is A Capacitor Inside Of The OP04 Electric motor Actuator. The Internal Capacitor Of The motor Actuator Is Charged During Initial Powering, Over A Period Of Approximately 60 Seconds. A Negligible Amount Of Power Is Required To Hold Position In Order To Keep The Internal Capacitor Charged. Without A Minimum Of 60 Seconds Powered The Capacitor May Not Maintain Enough Power To Return The Valve To The Closed Position.   Once The Power Is Cut Or Lost, The Internal Capacitor Will Use Its Power To Close Or Open The ball Valve Completely, Which Depends On If It Is A Normally Close Ball Valve Or Normally Open One.
