What is Addition Cure Silicone?

  Addition cure silicone is a rubber that is good for most mould making and casting techniques. It is suitable for many special effects and prothetic applications including paints. Addition silicones also include food safe and skin safe versions. Catalyst ratios vary but we mainly use an addition cure silicone that uses 10% catalyst. More importantly it is available in a transparent version.

Addition silicones use a platinum-based catalyst.

Supplied as two component kits, with a base and a catalyst,  Room Temperature Vulcanising (RTV) silicone rubber compounds are ready to mix. You can use RTV silicone rubber for:

a.make molds or impressions from an item, or make the actual products.

b. Different hardnesses are available. This can vary from soft and floppy for Special Effects purposes, to firm casting silicone for patternmakers, as well as high temperature silicone for casting metal alloys.

c. addition cured silicones, skin safe silicone for life casting and body casting impressions, artifical human breast, adult toys, prothesis as well as other fast moldmaking requirements.

Features of addition cured silicones for life casting   :

the product can be used for a long period and maintain softness and elasticity within a temperature range of -65----200 degree Celsius with the characteristics of excellent electrical performance and chemical stability, waterproof ,ozone and climate resistance. Non-corrosiveness, physical inertia, non-toxic, odorless, low linear shrinkage, easy operation, etc.

Using instructions of addition cured silicones for life casting  :

mix component A and component B evenly according to the mixing proportion of 1-0.95-1.05,and can be poured after desired the bubbles, the operating time(3-5)hours depends on the temperature, the curing time is 12-24 hours at the room temperature, and the curing time can be reduced to 10 minutes with the temperature increased to 80-120 degree Celsius. the operating time of the room temperature quick drying type is less than 20 minutes and the curing time is 1hour.the product can be produced in red .yellow ,etc .according to the customer's requirements.

Precautions of addition cured silicones for life casting  :

This product is platinum-catalyzed silicone rubber, water, impurity, organic tin catalyst, acid, alkaline and other organisms containing sulfur. Phosphorus and nitrogen will influence the vulcanization of the silicone rubber, so please do not mix with or touch those substances during using.
