Advantages

In today’s power stations, unlined coal bunkers often suffer from blocking due to the smaller sizes of indigenous and imported coal. Reduced manpower means that there are not enough people available to constantly keep unblocking them. Coal flow failure is now one of the biggest challenges facing coal fired power generators today. In certain cases this can have an adverse effect on the capability to generate power to specified levels and compromise safety of the workforce and plant.
