There are two main ways to realize the precision forging.
Refining the blank, that is, directly forging the blank to meet the requirements of the precision
machine.
Fine forgings, or parts of the whole or part, are made directly by precision forging process to
reduce the amount of machine added. At present, there are many precision forging processes
Hot precision forging process
Hot precision forging is a precision forging process that is forged at the temperature of
recrystallization. Because the deformation temperature is high, the deformation resistance
of the material is low and the plasticity is good in the process of forging, so it is easy to
form the parts with complex geometry.
Cold precision forging process
The cold precision forging process is a precision forging technology for forging at room
temperature. The room temperature forming, avoid the dimension error brought by thermal
expansion and contraction, so the precision cold forging workpiece shape and size can
be controlled easily, while forging surface does not produce oxidation and burning, the
surface quality is high, thus forging precision forging and forging temperature are lower
than cold precision forging.
Temperature precision forging process
Warm forging is a kind of precision forging technology to heat the metal to the suitable
temperature under the recrystallization temperature. It has the advantages of hot forging
and cold forging at the same time, and avoids their defects, effectively reduces the load
of equipment and mould, improves the plasticity and fluidity of metal, and does not need
forging annealing.
Compound precision forging process
The composite precision forging technology combines cold, warm and hot forging processes to
complete a forging technology of a workpiece. It can exert the advantages of cold, warm and hot
forging, and avoid the shortcomings of cold, warm and hot forging. At the same time, the
mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy and surface quality of parts produced by composite
precision forging process are improved compared with those produced by single forging technology.
At present, the commonly used compound precision forging processes are mainly warm forging cold
finishing, hot forging cold forging, warm extrusion cold rotary rolling, warm hot forging, cold extrusion,
hot precision forging and cold rotary forging.
