Briefing

Compact hollow-shaft servo motor with 0.08 N·m rated torque, 16-bit encoder and CAN FD for precision motion control.

Detailed

MG-H40-11 Hollow-Shaft Motor

The MG-H40-11 is a compact hollow-shaft brushless servo motor designed for robotic applications. Within its compact Ø40 × 24 mm housing, it integrates a brushless servo motor, drive controller, and single-turn absolute encoder. Weighing only approximately 81.8 g, it enables closed-loop position, speed, and torque control in space-constrained installations.

The motor features a hollow-shaft design with a minimum through-bore diameter of Ø11 mm. Cables, optical fibers, pneumatic tubes, and other components can be routed through the central bore, reducing interference and cable entanglement in rotating mechanisms. It is ideal for motion systems with demanding requirements for size, weight, cable management, and control accuracy.

Product Advantages

Motor features and dimensions

Compact and Lightweight

With an outer diameter of only 40 mm, an axial thickness of 24 mm, and a weight of approximately 81.8 g, the MG-H40-11 can be easily integrated into compact gimbals, rotary platforms, robotic joints, and precision instruments. Its lightweight construction helps reduce overall equipment weight and rotational inertia.

Ø11 mm Hollow Bore

The motor provides a minimum Ø11 mm through-bore for routing power cables, signal wires, optical paths, or pneumatic lines through the rotation axis. This enables a more compact system layout and reduces the risk of cable entanglement during rotation.

Robot joint motor specifications

Integrated Drive and Encoder

The motor drive and absolute encoder are integrated into a single compact unit, reducing the need for external drivers, encoder boards, and connecting cables. This simplifies the electrical architecture, wiring, and assembly process.

16-Bit Single-Turn Absolute Encoder

The integrated 16-bit single-turn absolute encoder provides immediate position feedback without requiring a conventional homing procedure after startup. Both repeatability and absolute positioning accuracy are rated at ±0.0125°, making it suitable for motion-control systems requiring precise angular feedback.

Robot application scenarios

CAN and CAN FD Communication

CAN and CAN FD control interfaces enable integration into multi-axis motion-control networks. A TTL configuration interface is also available for commissioning, parameter configuration, and system integration.

Low-Noise Operation

With a rated operating noise level below 50 dB, the MG-H40-11 is suitable for gimbals, inspection equipment, laboratory instruments, service robots, and other noise-sensitive applications.
